Autumn Winter 2007 is about drama and suspense.
Inspired by scenes from classic thriller films the collection is a blend of iconic fashion moments with contemporary design.
Print and colour remain a fascination for Roswald and inspiration for AW07 is taken from the countryside of West Coast of Ireland. Designs are hand drawn and unite flowers found along The Burren Coastline (Gentian and Crocosmia) with details taken from decorative interiors. The light and cinematic colours of the landscape triggered the association with the contrast lighting and colours seen in the later Hitchcocok films. Hues of slate and stone grey, muted shades of winter white and natural coffee colours are set against strong shades of green and blues. Jet black features strongly and provides a glamorous back drop to the vivid colours found in Irish villages.
Prints have an ethereal quality that translate beautifully into sophisticated jersey dresses.
As in Hitchcock’s movies romance is the trigger; full length dresses evoke scenes of refined elegance. Intricate beadwork and cornelli embroidery create instant scene-stealers. Exclusively woven wools and silk jacquards are applied to coats and jackets to create spellbinding silhouettes. An innovative selection of stylish, cosy knits cry out for long walks in break taking locations.
The scene is set for a thrilling season.
