Autumn Winter 2011
Ann Louise Roswald’s Autumn Winter 2011 collection is a rich mix that successfully combines formality with modernity. Sharp 1940’s tailoring flatters the feminine silhouette which is beautifully balanced with relaxed, easy pieces that are soft, fluid and luxe.
Colours are skillfully chosen for their classic longevity; black, Prussian blue, railings grey, ivory and nude silk rain contrast beautifully with rich dark plum, warm geranium and chartreuse.
Wool crepe provides the backbone of the tailoring, simple in itself, or adorned with signature intricate beadwork. Sparkly wool tweed adds glamour, especially when combined with vintage style fur collars and cuffs.
Key looks include a new take on a classic shirt dress in printed silk crepe; round necked, with gently billowing sleeves that are delicately cuffed at the wrist for a feminine twist. Sheer silk embellished shirts are demure, delicate and refined.
Knitwear is relaxed; tunic dresses have sophisticated design details and can be worn as statement pieces or casually layered, slouchy cardigans with frill details, and slim line cardigan coats work perfectly with the overall neat, structured silhouette.
Ann Louise Roswald’s Autumn Winter 11 collection is striking yet subtle, wearable yet covetable, epitomising the current climate of careful, creative dressing.
